Anne + Matt
Highland Park is a lovely little neighborhood in Birmingham, Alabama, and that makes it a great place to do a lifestyle portrait session! I had a chance to do so recently for Anne and Matt, a fun young couple that lives in the Highland Park neighborhood.
Anne and Matt wanted to get some portraits done in advance of fall and the upcoming holiday season. They actually won this portrait session with DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events at a charity auction for Girls Rock Birmingham, a music education organization that I’m happy to support.
We met on a warm Sunday afternoon and had plenty of great locations to work with during the session. The area around Rojo Birmingham, a favorite restaurant of mine and anyone familiar with Highland Park, was our first spot to use.
As we were shooting around the restaurant, Anne and Matt happened upon the owner of The Clubhouse on Highland. This spot is special to the couple as that is where they had their wedding. The owner was gracious enough to let us use the venue for a portion of the session.
Once we finished up at The Clubhouse on Highland and the area around it, we ended up in Rushton Park, a quaint little green space just across the street from Rojo. It was a perfect location to close this great lifestyle portrait session with Anne and Matt.
I’d like to thank Anne and Matt for supporting Girls Rock Birmingham and bidding on this portrait session. It was a pleasure working with them while also helping a great local organization. I invite you all to check out Girls Rock Birmingham and give them your support as well.
