I drive through this stretch of Irondale, Alabama at night a lot. I’ve seen these buildings countless times, and I’ve always thought about how they should be photographed once the sun retires for the day.
Because of their orientation and other conditions, I couldn’t photograph these in my preferred head-on and center-framed method.
Finding a different angle and approach was beneficial as it allowed me to see the structures in a new way while also taking advantage of whatever light sources were present.
Even though I shoot digitally with a Canon X-T4, I’ve been a fan of how Cinestill film looks for quite some time. These photos were edited with that in mind.
