The summer has been a busy season for graduation portrait sessions on the campus of The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and it’s been a blast being able to do so many shoots. I had the pleasure of doing one on the evening of August 10th as I headed to The Capstone and photographed a graduation session for Marie.
Marie is actually graduating in December with a degree in English, but she wanted to go ahead and get the bulk of her senior photos done now. We’re going to do another session in December, which should look lovely because campus always looks beautiful during that time of year.
For this shoot, we made use of some of the popular campus landmarks. The session started at Denny Chimes and then went out into the Quad and then the steps of Gorgas Library. Marie wanted to incorporate Morgan Hall, the home of the English department, into the shoot, so we went there before heading to Bryant-Denny Stadium.
After Bryany-Denny, Marie made a quick wardrobe change and then we headed to the parking deck that’s near the stadium. It allowed for some great views right near the sunset hour, and it’s becoming a favorite spot of mine during graduation sessions. Once we were done there, we finished the session in front of The President’s Mansion.
All in all, it was a wonderful and fun session to photograph. I’d like to thank Marie for having me out to do the shoot, and I wish her best with the upcoming semester. I’m also looking forward to continuing this in December!
