Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama is bustling with natural beauty. That makes it an ideal location for an engagement session. I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session at Oak Mountain on the evening of August 1st. That’s when I met up with Elizabeth and Andrew, a fun young couple that will soon be getting married.
Elizabeth and Andrew, who live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, will be celebrating their wedding in the Hoover, Alabama area on February 12th, 2021. Before that special day, they wanted to come up to Alabama, visit with family, and get their engagement session documented. I recommended Oak Mountain, and the couple was all about making use of such a beautiful location.
We decided to do most of the shoot overlooking the lovely main lake on the grounds of Oak Mountain State Park. That area has a small beach, stone structures, and other features that added to the engagement session. During the shoot, we also made use of the abundance of wooded areas in and around the lake.
At the conclusion of the session, we decided to do shoot some photos in front of the popular demonstration farm on the grounds of Oak Mountain State Park. Even though the main area was closed, Elizabeth and Andrew loved walking up to the gate to watch the goats feeding during sunset. It was a beautiful way to close out a really fun engagement session.
I do hope you enjoy this sampling of photos from Elizabeth and Andrew’s engagement shoot at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. Please take a moment to look through them and, if you’re in need of a wedding photographer or know someone who is in need, I’d love to talk details.
