DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events took a road trip recently to beautiful St. Augustine, Florida for a very special reason. The reason was that Casey and Charles, who you might remember from their engagement session, were tying the knot, and they asked me to provide the wedding photography. It was absolute pleasure of mine to oblige their request, especially since this was my first wedding to photograph in the historic town of St. Augustine.
Casey and Charles’ big day was July 13th, and the location of their ceremony was the beautifully historic Basilica Cathedral of St. Augustine. The old church made for just a stunning setting for Casey and Charles to get hitched. Before the ceremony, the couple did a first look in the courtyard of the church while also doing photos at The Treasury, a renovated old bank building that served as the location for their reception. After the ceremony, Casey and Charles enjoyed taking some more photos in the public plaza area of St. Augustine, one of the more historic and older portions of the city.
When pictures were done, it was time for Casey and Charles to party with their friends and family, many who had come from far away, at the reception. The couple had a great idea to label each table at the reception with the name of a location in popular culture. Some guests ate at Hogwarts while others ate at Starr’s Hollow. I must say I was a big fan of that design touch at the reception. The Treasury made for a great spot to have a party. As the party concluded, Casey and Charles exited The Treasury into the St. Augustine night through two columns of sparklers where a classic car, one that had been given to them by Charles’ grandfather, was waiting to take them away. It was a top-notch way to close out a top-notch day.
Casey and Charles’ big day in St. Augustine could not have been made possible without the work of an incredible team of vendors. I was fortunate enough to work some great people at this wedding. At the center of everything was the coordinator, Brittany Jones of Uncorked Occasions. Brittany did a bang of job of making sure there were absolutely no hitches for Casey and Charles to worry about on their wedding the day. The rest of the vendors also did great work, and I’d like to mention them here. Each vendor’s name links to their website.

I’d like to thank Casey and Charles for having me down in St. Augustine to photograph their wedding. It was so great to be able to do that for them, and I wish them nothing but happiness in their future together. I’d also like to thank my parents for making the trip with me as well. It was great to spend some time with them in St. Augustine.
