Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park | McCalla, Alabama
Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park in McCalla, Alabama is one of my favorite places to photograph. I’ve done engagement sessions at the park over the years, but I got to photograph my first wedding there on June 6th, 2020 as that was the date Emily and Michael tied the knot.
Emily and Michael had met at Tannehill as both of them are avid cyclists. Their love of the biking trails at Tannehill turned to a deeper love, and it was wonderful that they were able to have their celebration at a place that means so much to them.
The celebration took place at the old schoolhouse on the grounds of Tannehill, but we were also able to go into the interior of the park to do some pre-wedding photos. I was happy to make use of the beautiful natural backgrounds and warm summer morning present at Tannehill. There was such a whimsical and dreamy aspect to everything, and it perfectly complimented Emily and Michael’s celebration.
Emily and Michael were wed in front of family and friends and the old schoolhouse at Tannehill. Michael said his vows while Emily showcased her beautiful singing voice when it came to her turn. Once rings were exchanged and the first kiss was official, Emily and Michael walked down the aisle. They immediately went into their first dance and kicked off a great party.
Food for the reception was provided by Taco Mama, while the beer was courtesy of Emily and Michael’s friends at Tuscaloosa’s Black Warrior Brewing. Everyone had a great time visiting with the happy bride and groom and celebrating their union together.
I’d like to send a big word of thanks to Emily and Michael for choosing DSmithImages to photograph their wedding at Tannehill. I want to wish them nothing but the best in their lives together.
I’d also love to talk with anyone looking to book photography for their upcoming wedding or elopement celebration. Please visit my wedding photography pricing page or fill out the form below to request a personalized quote.
