Graduation portrait session season is always one of my favorite times of the year, and I’m always grateful for students who select DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events to document this big milestone in their lives. One of those students I recently had the pleasure of working with is Sarah, a soon to be graduate at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She’ll be graduating with a major in kinesiology. I headed to campus on the morning of April 7th for what turned out to be a beautiful spring time graduation portrait session at The Capstone.
We made sure to include all the big landmarks on campus, such as The President’s Mansion, the Walk of Champions, and Bryant-Denny Stadium. Sarah also wanted to personalize the session a bit with photos in front of the main building for the College of Education, which is the home of her major. I do always love spending portions of a graduation session in front of the main academic building for a student’s major.
When we got done shooting on campus, we took a quick drive to lovely downtown Northport to make use of a particular landmark in that area. Sarah wanted to incorporate the “Roll Tide” sign on the railroad bridge that runs through a portion of the downtown Northport community. The crimson color on the side was a beautiful compliment to things and a great exclamation point on a wonderful graduation portrait session.
I’d like to send a big word of thanks to Sarah and her family for choosing me to do these graduation portraits. I wish Sarah nothing but the best in her future after graduation from The University of Alabama!
I’d love for you to check out more photos from this graduation portrait session on the campus of The University of Alabama and in downtown Northport, Alabama.
