Lifestyle + Destination + Family Portrait Session Booking Process
Welcome to my page about my pricing for college graduation portrait sessions!
My pricing is based on you hiring me to photograph a portrait session for you. You are paying for the session. Everything else is a bonus that I’m happy to include. This is why I have a set price of $500.
I’ve been photographing portrait sessions since 2010, so you are not in the hands of an amateur or someone who does not know what they’re doing. Photographing a portrait session is far more than just taking pictures. I help you as a de facto coordinator, a sounding board for any creative ideas you might have, and someone who will make sure your session goes off without a hitch.
I understand everyone is on a budget, but I genuinely feel the value you’ll be getting from what I can provide you is well worth the cost of coverage for your portrait session. Consider it a wise investment since your photos will be lasting memories. You are not going to find a better value than what I am offering.
First and foremost, I want you to read this entire page to take in all the details and information I have regarding portrait sessions. I also want you to take a look at the galleries from the many lifestyle and family portrait sessions I’ve photographed in the past.
When that is done, the process of inquiring about choosing DSmithImages Photography as your portrait photographer begins with a simple contact message. That helps me get some information about you and what you’re looking for in terms of a portrait session.

I’ll then send you a customized message as soon as possible with all sorts of helpful information about the type of graduation session I can offer you.
This information will include detailed pricing information for the type of session you want. I want to let you know what I can best do to help meet your wants and needs, but I can’t do that if you don’t reach out.
If we all feel that this is going to be a perfect fit, we’ll then schedule a consultation over the phone or Zoom. That is where we’ll go over all sorts of creative and specific details regarding your session. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other better.
A signed agreement + a retainer of 1/2 of the package price would be required to book your session. The final payment would be due the day of the session.
Once the agreement and retainer are handled, I’ll happily put your date on the calendar and brag about the upcoming session. We’ll then be in regular communication leading up to your shoot as we talk about more creative ideas, scheduling, and coordination details.
Family + Maternity Portrait Sessions
Maternity + family portrait sessions are always so beautiful to photograph, and I’d love to set one up for you!
Family and the impending growth of a family is such a happy moment to celebrate, and I want to give you beautiful photographs to help you look back on things.
Maternity sessions can be solo or with your partner. It is up to you. We’ll pick a beautiful location that’s accommodating and comfortable.
Family sessions can be with just the immediate family or really as many members as you’d like to include!
Engagement + Couples + Self-Love Portrait Sessions
Whether it’s you and your special someone for a couples + engagement session, a group of friends, or just you by yourself in a self-love session, I’d love to set up a shoot for you!
We can shoot wherever you want. A rustic and rural setting, an urban cityscape, or anything in between. I’d love to make your dreams a reality!
These sessions are all based on your input and what you have in mind. I want to know what you’re thinking so I can best match that for you.
Destination Portrait Sessions
Everyone should go on an adventure in their lives, and everyone should have some great photos to document that occasion!
Whether it’s a couples + engagement session, family session, self-love session, or anything in between, I’d love to be your photographer!
That is why it’s my pleasure to offer adventurous lifestyle portrait photography sessions for couples and families who want to have photos from their travels to beautiful locations all over the United States!
Because these sessions require a bit more planning and prep work, they do cost more than a normal session, but the expense is well worth the memories you’ll have once the adventure is complete!
Scheduling a Lifestyle + Destination + Family Portrait Session
When you touch base about scheduling a portrait session, I’ll ask you what time is the best for you to do the shoot.
I strongly prefer, recommend, and request portrait sessions to be done in the early morning (At or just after sunrise) or in the afternoon/evening (Think closer to sunset).
Those times provide the most dynamic and amazing lighting conditions to get pristine cinematic-quality portraits.
I avoid portrait sessions during the mid-day (A little before, during, and right after 12:00 P.M.)
I also only do a maximum of two portrait sessions a day, so you don’t have to worry about me being overbooked or anything like that.
I’m happy to be available for any and all portrait sessions within a 250-mile radius of my home in Birmingham, Alabama.
This includes a large part of Alabama along with the Nashville + Atlanta metro areas and many more locations in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia.
This also means I do not charge any additional travel fees for portrait sessions in these areas.
If you happen to be outside of the 250-mile radius and are still interested in booking a session, definitely send me a message. I don’t like charging travel fees if I don’t have to, so I’m sure we’ll be able to work something out.
I never want distances to keep you from getting the photos you deserve!
Lifestyle + Destination + Family Portrait Photography Package
All sessions receive the following:
-No time limit on the session + no limit on the number of locations used.
–A private password-protected gallery to view, download, and share your photos.
-All photos will be delivered in high-resolution form with full print rights.
-4 digital versions of each photo: The out-of-camera version (edited for just cropping and exposure), two edited color versions, and a black and white version.
-Rapid turn-around time and delivery of your digital photos.
-A set of photos shot on film. These take a bit longer to process and deliver than the digital versions.
-A $100 print and product credit
-Coordination + styling assistance if needed
Portrait sessions are $500.
